FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The
Evening Star Music Group, the Orange County, California-based record label,
has announced the signing of a long term distribution deal with City Hall
Records. City Hall, founded in 1973, is regarded as one of the top
three independent record distributors in north America.
The
Evening Star Music Group continues the legacy of the late Nik Venet, a
record producer and music business executive who inspired and mentored
countless songwriters and recording artists. Venet is credited with signing
a roster which included The Beach Boys, Linda Ronstadt and Jim Croce during
his tenure at Capitol Records. "Nik left some great art behind,"
says Evening Star Music Group president, Jeffrey Casey. "It is our
goal to continue his heritage of promoting remarkable songwriting."
Harriet
Schock, a gold/platinum songwriter and recording artist, will deliver the
label's first release, Rosebud,
on April 3 1999. "Every artist who comes to us goes through a rigorous
screening process," stresses Casey. Harriet Schock exemplifies the
intelligence in lyrical content that all of our releases will represent."
Evening
Star has also secured a book deal for Ms. Schock. BECOMING
REMARKABLE, for Songwriters and Those Who Love Songs
will be released on April 22 by Blue Dolphin Press.
The
Evening Star Music Group plans to release six albums in its first year.
Simultaneously, the label will launch a separate division to focus exclusively
on the exploding Christian music market with a planned September release.Contact:
