is coming out on Friday, February 25, 2022, and is available on all digital
platforms.
The sultry and soulful
jazz track was written by Valerie Simpson of the legendary group, Ashford
& Simpson. “I very much enjoyed hearing your treatment of "Trying to
Be Perfect." The message is still timely and you have the vocal power to
get it over,” Simpson said.
Woodson pulls from
her past experiences of relationship heartache and surviving adversity
in the 2022 version produced by Nigel Lowis and Candace Woodson. She brings
to focus the stress
of trying to live up to world’s
expectation of perfection. Dubbed by her fans as “The Queen of Sophisticated
Soul,” Woodson brings to "(Trying to Be) Perfect" the passion and vocals
that keep her in heavy
